Alain Polak, traverso maker, established his workshop in Barcelona in the beginning of the nineties. Having acquired a thorough knowledge of the instrument as a player (he studied at the Royal Conservatory of the Hague with Barthold Kuijken), he is particularly aware of the requirements concerning tone quality and tuning. |

His replicas of baroque and classical flutes are all hand-made, and cover a large range of pitches, from A= 392 to A= 440. They can be seen and played at the international exhibitions of Utrecht, Bruges, London, Frankfurt, Berlin and Paris, and, of course, in the workshop:
